The Hangar Bar and Grill at The Bessemer Airport was the site for the Service League Bingo fundraiser held on Sunday, November 5.

The event was sponsored by the Service League, The Hangar Bar and Grill and Garage 19.

The proceeds benefited the Trevin Franklin family. Their son Levi Franklin, two-years-old, is battling cancer.

Planning the event were Amanda Jewell, Ashleigh McMurry and Heather Lawley.

Karen Tucker is president of the Service League.

Vice-President Judy Moore Mathis said, “It was a beautiful day and a most successful fundraiser. The League was honored to be a sponsor.”

Along with bingo, the League also held a silent auction. Among those participating included Rebecca’s Jewelry, Bob Sykes BBQ, the Bright Star Restaurant and a Carnival cruise to the Western Caribbean donated by Shelly Phillips of Travel By That Girl.

Emma Lawley and Charlie Lawley were at the front gate greeting the nearly 200 guests and selling raffle tickets and entry tickets.
